By accessing or using Engineering Trends ("we", "us", "our") website and services, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

We provide digital educational content in the form of ebooks, guides, and related materials focused on LLM (Large Language Model) and Agent Tools for software engineers. Our services include:

• Digital ebook purchase and delivery (PDF and ePub formats)
• Free newsletter subscription
• Access to preview content (for pre-order customers)
• Private Discord community access (for paying customers)
• Content updates for a specified period

3. Pre-Order Terms

3.1 Pre-Order Process

When you pre-order our ebook before the official launch date (December 2025), you agree to:

• Pay the pre-order price at the time of order
• Receive biweekly preview MVPs for early feedback
• Receive the final product on or shortly after the launch date
• Understand that the final product may differ from previews based on feedback

3.2 Launch Date

We aim to launch in December 2025. If there are delays, pre-order customers will be notified via email and will have the option to request a full refund.

4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Pricing

• Pre-order price: $8.99 (50% discount from regular $16.99)
• Regular price (post-launch): $16.99
• Free newsletter: $0

All prices are in USD and subject to change before launch. Pre-order customers lock in their price at purchase.

4.2 Payment Processing

Merchant of Record: All payments are processed through Paddle.com, which acts as the merchant of record for this transaction. This means:

• Paddle.com handles all payment processing, billing, and tax compliance
• Your payment information is securely processed by Paddle.com (we never see or store your credit card details)
• You will see "Paddle.com" on your credit card statement
• Paddle.com automatically calculates and collects applicable VAT/sales tax based on your location

By providing payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method and agree to Paddle.com's Terms of Service.

4.3 Taxes

You are responsible for any applicable sales tax, VAT, or other taxes based on your location. Prices shown may not include taxes.

5. Refund Policy

5.1 Korean Consumer Protection (전자상거래법)

For customers in South Korea, we comply with the Electronic Commerce Act. You have the right to:

• 7-Day Cooling-Off Period: Request a refund within 7 days of purchase for any reason
• Extended Refund Rights: Request a refund if the digital content is significantly different from what was described
• Withdrawal of Subscription: Cancel recurring subscriptions at any time

• Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Paddle.com
• No questions asked policy

5.3 Pre-Order Refunds

Pre-order customers may request a refund at any time before the official launch date. After launch, the standard 30-day money-back guarantee (and 7-day Korean law period) applies.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Ownership

All content, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Engineering Trends or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 License Grant

Upon purchase, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and view the ebook for personal, non-commercial use
• Make one backup copy for archival purposes
• Access updates during the subscription period (1 year from purchase)

6.3 Restrictions

You may NOT:

• Share, distribute, or resell the ebook or any portion of it
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
• Remove copyright or proprietary notices
• Use the content for commercial purposes without written permission
• Upload the ebook to file-sharing or public platforms

7. User Conduct

You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes. You will not:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Transmit harmful code or malware
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Harass, abuse, or harm others in our Discord community
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission

8. Discord Community Access

Paying customers receive access to our private Discord community. Access details:

• Delivery: Discord invitations are sent manually within 7 days of purchase
• Requirements: Valid email address and Discord account
• Duration: Access remains active as long as you own the ebook

Community guidelines:

• Be respectful and professional
• No spam, self-promotion, or solicitation
• Respect others' privacy and confidentiality
• Follow Discord's Terms of Service
• We reserve the right to remove members who violate guidelines

9. Content Updates

9.1 Update Period

Paying customers receive free content updates for 1 year from the date of purchase. Updates may include:

9.2 Update Delivery

Updates will be delivered via email (info@engineering-trends.com) with download links. You are responsible for downloading updates during the subscription period.

9.3 Biweekly Preview for Pre-Order Customers

Pre-order customers receive biweekly preview versions of the ebook before the official launch:

• Preview PDFs sent via email starting from November 2025
• Opportunity to provide feedback that shapes the final product
• Preview content may differ from the final published version

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

OUR SERVICES AND CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Security or freedom from viruses
